No Show Policy

To coincide with the introduction on the new on-line tee sheets and the fact that members can now book on-line 7days a week, 24 hours a day Links Hope Island has introduced a No-Show Policy. Please be aware of the policy and the need to show consideration to your fellow members and remember to cancel any unwanted bookings.

 

Links Hope Island wishes to make available the maximum amount of tee times to all members, especially in those times when the demand is at its strongest. All your bookings can be tracked through My Bookings on the website situated on the member's page once you have logged on.

New Standard Procedure for No Shows

1st Offense 'No Show'
A letter sent advising that the Club has recorded a 'No Show' against your name

2nd Offense 'No Show'
Advise to the General Manager that you now have recorded a 2nd 'No Show'

The General Manager will contact you to discuss the 'No Shows' at which time a penalty or suspension may be imposed which will be at the discretion of the Board.

Juniors

Juniors entering the Sunday 9 hole competitions will need to pass a playing test including a rules & etiquette test in order to participate.

Dress Code

In keeping with the Links Hope Island's relaxed yet classy ambience, members and guests are required to maintain neat, clean and tidy attire at all times when out on the course or in the clubhouse.

Suitable attire in the clubhouse or out on the course:

Men
Tailored long pants, tailored shorts (including cargo/ neat denim), collared shirt, full button shirt, mock turtle golf shirt, anklet sport or full length socks, golf shoe or flat soled sport shoes.
No metal spikes.
Ladies
Tailored shorts, pants, skirts (of appropriate length), collared shirt or crew neck, anklet sport or full length socks, golf shoe or flat soled sport shoes.
No metal spikes.

Unsuitable attire in both the clubhouse and on the
course includes:
Frayed, discoloured or tattered denim shorts, board shorts, sport shoes, t-shirts, singlets and thongs.

Please be advisedT Shirts are banned from the Golf Club.

Exceptions are:

  • Golf Turtle necks
  • T shirts worn by young kids whenaccompanied bytheir parents who are correctly attired. Note this does not apply to teenagers
  • Women wearing sleeveless fashion tops

With regard to Thongs being worn in the Club
Exceptions to the above rule are:

  • Leather sandal/thongs worn by females
  • Infants wearing thongs when accompanied by correctly attired adults

NOTE:  Neat denim jeans will be allowed in the clubhouse, as is the wearing of dress sandals.

Golf Etiquette

PRIOR TO PLAY
Arrive at least fifteen minutes early to check-in at the Golf Shop. 
If you cannot meet your tee-time booking please contact Golf Bookings
(07 5530 9030) to cancel.
Subject to how busy the course is, you may be joined with other players to make a foursome.
Be ready to play when it is your time to tee off.
Don't forget to warm up on our Aquatic Range prior to play. 


ON THE TEE

Mark your ball so that you can identify it.
Hit ONLY when golfers ahead of you are out of range.
Stand still and facing other golfers while they are hitting.
Watch where all balls go to avoid time spent looking for lost balls.
Yell the warning "FORE!" if your ball is heading toward another golfer.
Sand your divot.
Rake the bunkers after use.

THE FAIRWAY

Walk/ride directly to your ball unless you reach someone else's ball first.
Place your bag or cart near you when hitting.
Take no more than one practice swing.
Player furthest from the hole usually plays first, but golfers out of range of the group in front can play first, if ready.
Sand your divot, and others you may see whilst walking the fairways.
Walk briskly between shots and be ready to play when it is your turn.
Keep Pace with the group in front of you at all times.
Assist playing partners when needed by bringing clubs, finding lost balls, etc.
Adhere to motorised cart rules at all times.

ON THE GREEN
Avoid parking too close to tee's or greens.
Place your bag or cart between the green and the next tee.
Take all clubs that you may need.
Repair your own ball marks and others.
Avoid stepping on another player's putting line.
The person furthest away from the hole putts first.
On long putts, have another player attend the flagstick.
Mark your ball if it is in the path of another player's ball.
Record all scores on the next tee.
